The Dr. Stone Tech Tree: Every Major Invention and What It Unlocked
From sulfa drugs to the cell phone — the rebuild, in order, with the dependencies that made each step possible.
Dr. Stone is a tech tree with a cast. Each invention has prerequisites, and the show is unusually disciplined about honouring them: no glass without sand and heat, no antibiotics without glass, no radio without wire and no wire without a furnace.
The first genuine unlock is not a weapon but medicine. Sulfa drugs buy Senku a village's trust, and trust buys labour — the actual bottleneck in every subsequent project.
The iron and glass tier is where the show's economy becomes visible. Every later marvel routes back through those two materials, which is why the mid-series arcs spend so long on logistics that other anime would skip.
Read the series as a build order and the pacing choices make sense. The cell phone is not a gag payoff; it is the top of a dependency chain the show spent two seasons laying down.
